It seem we livin’ the American Dream
But the people highest up got the lowest self-esteem
The prettiest people do the ugliest things
For the road to riches and diamond rings
In the journey of the evolution of the human soul, humans come to a quintessential milestone. They want to feel important. They want to feel like they matter. When humans are young, they tend to only desire this approval from a few people, but over time people can grow into the false narrative that approval from others will prove to be fulfilling. In reality, external validation is fleeting and inherently unstable. What our souls truly crave is to matter deeply and eternally to at least one other person. Mattering deeply to one person is better than mattering superficially to millions. What our souls crave is order, protection and unconditional love. “There are only two questions that human beings have ever fought over, all through history. How much do you love me? And Who's in charge? Everything else is somehow manageable. But these two questions of love and control undo us all, trip us up and cause war, grief, and suffering.” (Elizabeth Gilbert)
